Product FAQ

Q1. What is a 5/2 directional control valve?

A 5/2 directional valve has five channels and two switch positions. It is particularly suitable for controlling double-action cylinders. The graphic below shows the schematic symbol for such a valve operated on one side by means of an electromagnet with a spring operated return.

Q2. How does a 5 port solenoid valve work?

5/2 way is a five port, two position valve that will put a fluid or air into one end of a double acting device as well as allowing the other end vent to exhaust. Zero Differential are solenoid valves that can operate under zero head pressure (do not need a differential pressure drop across the valve to work).

Q3. What does the numbers in 5/2 valve mean?

The 5/2-way pneumatic valve has five connection ports and two states. It has one pressure port (P,1), two ports (A,2) and (B,4) that connect to the device that needs to be controlled, and two exhaust ports (EA,3) and (EB,5).

Q4. What is the difference between 3/2 way and 5/2 solenoid valve?

The first one has 2 positions with 1 inlet, 1 outlet and 1 exhaust, and the second one has 2 positions with 2 outlet, 2 exhaust and 1 inlet. Push buttons and check valves are the main uses of 5/2.
