The MGP series compact guided cylinder integrates the cylinder body and the guide rod. The built-in guide shaft effectively isolates the load support from the movement of the piston rod and the sealing part, which can effectively reduce the wear of the piston rod and the seal, and improve the durability and stability of the cylinder. It is widely used in automated material handling such as pushing, clamping, lifting, and precise positioning.
As the basic model, MGP series compact guide cylinder has the following features:
Three guide bearing types available
Optional magnetic reed switch, air cushion, end lock
Different cylinder diameters (12-100mm) and strokes (10-400mm) are available
Can be used as clamping cylinder, lifting cylinder, and pushing cylinder
4 mounting methods

3. How to install and maintain MGP cylinders?
① Installation method
The cylinder body and baffle are equipped with mounting holes. There are 4 mounting methods: top mounting, side mounting, bottom mounting and T-slot side mounting.
Top mounting
Side mounting
Bottom mounting
T-slot side mounting
② Maintenance
Regularly check the piston rod and guide surfaces, piston rod seals and cylinder outer surface. Damage or rust on these parts may increase friction and lead to dangerous situations.
Replace the seals when the air leakage exceeds the allowable value.
Internal leakage: 10 cm3/min (ANR)
External leakage: 5 cm3/min (ANR)
Regularly clean the dust on the outer surfaces of the actuator and mounting bracket.
Regularly check the lubrication.
4. Model selection and application
Application scenario type | Specific scenarios | Models |
High-precision positioning assembly | Camera module positioning, optical component assembly, PCB circuit board pins | MGPL |
High frequency reciprocating motion | Beat line> 60 times/min, high-speed automatic sorting | MGPL |
Stamping, heavy load operation | Fixture clamping, punching workpiece blanking, robot docking | MGPM |
Dusty or particulate environment | Woodworking machinery, grinding equipment, metal dust environment | MGPM |
No lubrication | Food machinery, clean room | MGPM |
Small space, slow movement | Semiconductor wafer handling, chip placement displacement | MGPL |
FAQ:
1. What is the difference between MGP cylinders and other compact cylinders?
The MGP series cylinder has a built-in guide shaft, high side load capacity and non-rotation function, suitable for complex loads and high precision requirements; while ordinary compact cylinders have no guide rods or weak guide functions, suitable for linear push or position limitation.
2. Can MGPL replace MGPM for overloading?
No. Ball bearings have a low load capacity and overloading can cause the track to deform.
3. How does bearing type affect cylinder performance?
The bearing type directly determines the friction performance, load-bearing capacity, motion accuracy, life and applicable environment of the cylinder.
4. What is MLGP compact cylinder?
MLGP thin type locking cylinders with guide rods have a locking mechanism that securely locks the piston rod even when the air source is disconnected or the air pressure is depleted, preventing the cylinder position from changing or the load from slipping, ensuring safe and stable operation.
Stopping possible at any stroke position
Prevents falling and accidental movement
Various locking positions
Manual release function
5.What are the precautions when installing MGP cylinders?
① Guide rod through hole reservation: When bottom mounting, the guide rod through hole must be reserved on the mounting surface to ensure that the guide rod is not blocked when it is extended.
② Alignment requirements: The cylinder and the load should be well aligned to avoid excessive lateral force and damage to the guide rod and seal.
③ Tighten firmly: Use screws of appropriate specifications and tighten according to the recommended torque to prevent loosening or vibration.
④ Travel space: Ensure that there is enough space for the guide rod to extend and retract to avoid collision or jamming.
