VBA Booster regulator's main function is to push the air in the system from low pressure to high pressure for compression and pressurization, thus increasing the system pressure. It is widely used in pneumatic systems and equipment requiring high pressure supply.
1. Assembly Products & Tools
1. VBA series booster regulator
2. Thread sealing tape
3. PC pneumatic fitting
4. Open end wrench
5. Hex Key/Llave hexagonal
6. Screw
7. Sealing ring
8. Safety valve
9. Drain valve
10. Pressure Gauge
11. Silencer
* Wrapping thread sealing tape: Drain valves, safety valves and pressure gauges all need to be wrapped with thread sealing tape to ensure their sealing. Please refer to the article for the wrapping method.
2. Installation of Drain Valve and Safety Valve
① Install the drain valve: Tighten the drain valve to the drain port at the bottom of the air tank. Make sure the connection is tight to avoid air leaks.
② Install the safety valve: Use a hexagonal wrench to open the safety valve installation cover on the air tank. Screw the safety valve into the air tank and tighten it to prevent loosening.
3. Installation of Booster Regulator
① Installation of seal: Use a hexagonal wrench to unscrew the threaded hole at the bottom of the pneumatic booster regulator. Install the seal into the threaded hole at the bottom of the booster regulator, ensuring that the seal is not damaged and is properly connected.
② Connect the boost regulator to the air tank: Open the protective cover on the air tank, place the boost regulator on the air tank steadily, and ensure that the four screw holes of the boost regulator are aligned with the connection holes of the air tank. Put the screws into the connection holes and tighten them with a hexagonal wrench.
4. Installation of Pressure Gauge, Air Fittings and Silencer
① Pressure gauge installation: Screw the pressure gauge wrapped with thread seal tape into the air IN port and OUT port of the booster regulator in turn.
② Air fitting installation: Tear off the protective seal, screw the air fitting into the IN and OUT port of the booster regulator in turn, and tighten the fitting with an adjustable wrench.
③ Silencer installation: Tear off the seal and screw the silencer into the exhaust hole of the booster regulator.

1. How does a booster regulator work?
The IN air passes through the check valve to booster chambers A and B. Meanwhile, air is supplied to drive chamber B via the governor and the switching valve. Then, the air pressure from drive chamber B and booster chamber A are applied to the piston, boosting the air in booster chamber B. As the piston travels, the boosted air is pushed via the check valve to the OUT side. When the piston reaches to the end, the piston causes the switching valve to switch, so that drive chamber B is in the exhaust state and drive chamber A is in the supply state respectively. Then, the piston reverses its movement, this time, the pressures from booster chamber B and drive chamber A boosts the air in booster chamber A and sends it to the OUT side. The process described above is repeated to continuously supply highly pressurized air from the IN to the OUT side.
2. When to use a booster regulator?
① Some devices in the pneumatic circuit need to use a higher air pressure than the main line pressure.
② The space is small and a large-diameter pneumatic cylinder cannot be configured, but the output force must be guaranteed.
③ Pneumatic remote operation requires pressurization to compensate for pressure loss.
④ It is necessary to increase the liquid pressure of the gas-liquid cylinder.
⑤ When you want to shorten the time to fill the gas tank to a certain pressure.
3. What are the pressure control components?
Booster Regulator provides the required high pressure.
Pressure regulator reduces the high pressure fluid to a safe range.
Precision pressure regulator ensures accurate regulation of the output pressure.
Electro-pneumatic regulator provides real-time and intelligent pressure regulation (can achieve stepless pressure regulation).
The above is the installation process of the boost regulator and air tank. If you have any questions during the installation process, please contact VPC and we will be happy to answer your questions.
