Q1. What is a 3 Way 2 position solenoid valve?

Solenoid valve most common types are 2-way and 3-way valves which can be N/O (normally open) or N/C (normally closed). For example, a 2/2 valve has two ports (in/out) and two states (open/closed). 3 Way 2 position valve has three ports and two states.Allows multiple different configurations of flow paths while connecting only two ports in any single location.

Solenoid valves are often available with various housing materials. The main difference between direct acting and pilot solenoids is that direct-acting solenoid valves have a direct connection with the opening and closing armature, whereas pilot-operated valves employ the use of the process fluid to assist in piloting the operation of the valve.


Q5. Why do solenoid valves fail?

Solenoid coil failure can be caused by a number of factors. Applying an incorrect voltage to the coil will cause it to fail and may cause the coil to burn out. Electrical surges or spikes may also damage the coil. Burnt out coils cannot be repaired and will need to be replaced.
