The pneumatic vacuum system is a pneumatic control system that uses compressed air to generate negative pressure (vacuum) to complete functions such as adsorption, transportation, and fixation of parts or objects.

2. Application of pneumatic vacuum system

Vacuum adsorption handling system: Suitable for any object with a smooth surface. Especially for non-iron, non-metal and non-suitable for clamping objects, such as thin and soft paper, plastic film, aluminum foil, fragile glass and its products, integrated circuits and other micro-precision parts, etc., vacuum adsorption can be used to complete it. It is widely used in the automotive, woodworking, packaging, electronics, sheet metal and other industries.

FAQ

1. Vacuum pump VS vacuum generator

  • A vacuum pump is a device that generates vacuum. The suction port forms negative pressure, and the exhaust port is directly connected to the atmosphere. Max. vacuum degree: -101.3Kpa

  • The vacuum generator is a pneumatic component that uses the flow of compressed air to form a certain vacuum degree. Max. vacuum degree: -88Kpa

2. How to select a vacuum generator?

When selecting a vacuum generator, factors such as maximum suction flow, maximum vacuum degree, and air consumption should be considered. In addition, you should also choose a vacuum generator that can provide a stable vacuum degree based on the total gas consumption of the vacuum cup and the continuous working cycle (working frequency) required by the system.

3. What is a vacuum suction cup?

The vacuum suction cup is a connecting component between the workpiece and the vacuum system. It uses a vacuum pump or vacuum generator to extract the air in the suction cup, forming a vacuum state inside, so that it can be tightly adsorbed on various flat materials under the action of atmospheric pressure.

4. How does the vacuum suction cup work?

Suction principle:

The vacuum suction cup is connected to the vacuum generator through the air pipe, and then contacts the object to be lifted (such as glass, paper, small membrane, etc.), and the vacuum equipment is started to suck, so that negative air pressure is generated inside the suction cup, so that the object to be lifted is firmly sucked, and the object to be lifted can be transported.

Detachment principle:

When the object to be lifted is moved to the destination, the vacuum suction cup is smoothly inflated, so that the negative air pressure in the vacuum suction cup changes to zero air pressure or positive air pressure. The vacuum suction cup automatically separates from the object to be lifted, thereby completing the task of lifting and moving heavy objects.

5. How to choose a vacuum suction cup?

① Selection of adsorbents

  • Characteristics of the adsorbent: surface state, air permeability, aversion to static electricity, aversion to copper ions, and whether the shape changes (paper, plastic).

  • Shape of the adsorbent: size of the adsorption surface, flatness (state of the curved surface), shape (cube, sphere, cylinder).

  • Weight of adsorbate

  • Lifting direction of adsorbent: horizontal adsorption or vertical adsorption.

Lifting direction of adsorbent

② Select the vacuum suction cup

  • Calculation of adsorption force: Calculated based on the weight of the workpiece to be carried and the contact area.

F = P X A

F: Adsorption force

P: Vacuum pressure

A: Area of contact surface between suction cup and workpiece

  • Calculation of suction cup diameter: Determined according to the shape and size of the workpiece and the required adsorption force.

  • Suction cup material: Select appropriate material according to usage conditions, fluid used, usage environment, etc.

  • Shape of suction cup: Choose the shape of suction cup according to the shape, material and weight of the object to be adsorbed.

Application

Flat suction cup

Handle workpieces with flat or slightly rough surfaces. Such as metal plates, cartons, glass, etc.

Corrugated suction cup

Suitable for irregular surfaces or surfaces with deformed materials. Such as handling workpieces such as battery cells and metal plates.

Long roung suction cup Carrying narrow and long workpieces with small gripping surface, such as wooden strips, window frames, geometric workpieces, etc.
Deep suction cup

The suction cup has a large depth. It is suitable for workpieces with a certain surface curvature, such as fruits, glass balls and other ball objects.
